Programs

Six programs. One mission: a fairer path into the technology economy.

Spark Nucleus runs a connected set of programs spanning AI readiness, cybersecurity, cloud and DevOps career pathways, youth mentorship, digital transformation support for nonprofits and small businesses, and community education. All programs are offered at no cost, or at deeply subsidized cost, to the communities we serve.

Skills · 01

AI Readiness Program

Hands-on, plain-language AI training for students, jobseekers, and community workers. What modern AI tools actually do, where they break, and how to use them safely on real work, no prior engineering background required.

Who it's for

Youth, jobseekers, and frontline community workers ready to use AI in their studies and jobs.

Format

Workshops, short courses, and applied projects, delivered with community partners.

Outcomes

Practical AI fluency, safe-use literacy, and a starter portfolio of AI-assisted work.

Cost

Free to participants. Underwritten by sponsors and community partners.

Skills · 02

Cybersecurity Education Initiative

Foundational and intermediate cybersecurity training for underserved learners and the organizations that serve them. Practical defense, safe data handling, and visibility into entry-level security career pathways.

Who it's for

Youth exploring tech careers, and staff at nonprofits or small businesses handling sensitive data.

Format

Cohort-based workshops, hands-on labs, and short-form courses paired with mentorship.

Outcomes

Confidence in core security concepts, safe handling of organizational data, and a line of sight to first roles.

Cost

Free to participants and partner organizations.

Careers · 03

Cloud & DevOps Skills Accelerator

A structured pathway into cloud engineering and DevOps roles. Covers fundamentals across AWS, Azure, and GCP, infrastructure-as-code, automation, and the portfolio work that helps participants land a first job.

Who it's for

Early-career learners and career-changers targeting cloud, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.

Format

Cohort-based curriculum with weekly labs, project reviews, and one-on-one engineer office hours.

Outcomes

A portfolio of real cloud/DevOps work, interview readiness, and a referral network into the field.

Cost

Free to admitted participants. Underwritten by sponsors.

Mentorship · 04

Black Youth Tech Mentorship Network

One-on-one and small-group mentorship pairing Black and underserved youth with working engineers. Practical guidance on choosing a direction, navigating early-career decisions, and opening doors that networks normally don't.

Who it's for

Black and underserved youth and young adults exploring or entering tech careers.

Format

Six-month one-on-one engagements plus optional small-group cohorts and community sessions.

Mentors

Practicing engineers, cloud, cybersecurity, software, AI/ML, who have done the work.

Cost

Free. The foundation does not accept payment from participants.

Capacity · 05

Digital Transformation Support for Nonprofits & Small Businesses

Free or low-cost engineering help for small organizations that need real technical capacity, and can't realistically hire it on the open market. We do the work, document it, and hand it over.

Who it's for

Small nonprofits, community organizations, and small businesses, especially those serving underrepresented communities.

What we take on

Cloud migration, security hardening, automation of manual workflows, AI adoption, and short-form internal tooling.

Format

Scoped engagements (typically 3–6 months) with defined deliverables and a clean handover.

Cost

Free or low-cost depending on the partner. We do not displace work that paid practitioners could reasonably do.

Community · 06

Community Learning & Scholarship Support

Community-facing education, workshops, and scholarship support that sit alongside our technical programs, keeping a foot in the broader needs of the communities we serve, not just the tech ones.

What this covers

Community workshops, learning circles, and scholarship support contributing to access to tech education.

Legacy initiatives

Community-rooted education and youth-support work that grounds our technical programs.

Format

Co-delivered with schools, community groups, and partner nonprofits.

Cost

Free to participants and partner communities.
